Don't Screw Your Welcome Flow Up

I’ve audited 2 brands within the last week that have made $0 from their Welcome Series flow for the month of May.

$0 (!!!!) for the entire month!

And these aren’t small brands. They’re both around the $1M/year mark.

Lucky for them after a quick audit it took about 3 seconds to fix.

One of those brands has already made $3k from their welcome series, and that was before we launched the new, optimised version.

So what were the mistakes?

  1. The trigger was setup incorrectly

  2. The profile filters were setup incorrectly

If you think your welcome flow is under-performing, jump into Klaviyo right now and follow along with me to make sure these aren’t the cause.

Firstly, the trigger for your welcome series should be when someone joins a specific list (usually your newsletter/master list). This should be the SAME LIST that people join when they submit their email details on your popup form.

If they’re the same, this part is correct.

Secondly, the only profile filter you need is ‘Placed Order 0 times since starting this flow’.

That’s it. You don’t need to have any other filters on your welcome series.
