How To Make 100k/mo from Email Marketing

Guide for Ecom brands...

Having an ecommerce brand and not allocating meticulous attention to your email list and growing your email revenue is objectively dumb.

When it’s done properly, you should be getting around 40% of your total revenue from email alone.

Here’s the exact step-by-step method I’ve used to help dozens of ecommerce brands multiply their revenue using email marketing, so you can just copy this strategy and grow your business.

  1. High converting popup

    • If you’re not converting at least 8% of your website visitors into email subscribers, you’re wasting a ton of money

    • Creating a high converting popup is pretty simple:

      1. Make your offer clear & big

      2. Have no more than 10 words on your popup MAX

      3. Use a micro commit

      4. Separate popup for desktop and mobile

  1. 8-Email Long Welcome Series Flow

    • It takes someone seeing your brand approx. seven times before they buy from you

    • In your welcome sequence, you should:

      1. Nurture & convert them

      2. Deliver on your offer

      3. Educate them on your brand USP

      4. Show them social proof

  1. All 4 Abandonment Flows

    • In order to maximize sales, the 4 abandonment flows are a must:

      1. Site Abandoned

      2. Browse Abandoned

      3. Cart Abandoned

      4. Checkout Abandoned

    • Try to come up with the pain points that could have caused the abandonment and tackle them in these emails

  1. Air Tight Post-Purchase Systems (Flows)

    • Post-purchase flows are OP for boosting AoV

    • The best ones are:

      1. Immediate Upsell

      2. Post-Purchase

      3. Winback

      4. Sunset

      5. VIP

  1. Monthly Campaign Calendars

    • The most effective strategy I found is:

      1. 3-4 Emails per week

      2. No more than 1 discount per month

      3. One topic/FAQ/benefit etc per email

  1. Deliverability

    • Many people overlook this but if your emails hit spam, you’re burning money

    • Optimize it with:

      1. Dedicated sending domain

      2. Dedicated IP (not the Klaviyo shared IP’s)

      3. Sending to engaged segments

      4. Cleaning your list regularly (sunset flow)

  1. Testing

    • At the end of the day, getting good results from email marketing comes down to testing everything and keeping what works

    • You should have:

      1. 1 A/B test running on your popup at all times

      2. 1 A/B test running on EACH FLOW at all times

      3. Campaign sending times & segments

This is exactly how to make $100k/mo with email marketing as an ecommerce brand. If you implement these steps, I have no doubt in my mind that you will see awesome results.

However, this is only one piece of the puzzle. There’s a lot more going into email marketing, like design, copywriting, strategy, nuance, technical Klaviyo implementation, or Flow Filters and I obviously couldn’t cover everything in this email.

There is a reason most brands don’t have excellent email marketing. It’s a complicated machine that needs constant attention.
