Slash Expenses & Increase Profits
It only takes 5 minutes...
Yo yo
Welcome to the FIRST edition of the MVP Marketing Newsletter.
We’re starting hot.
This email will cover:
The Email Flow That Slashes Expenses AND Increases Profits with only 5 minutes work
Putting Gymshark on BLAST
3 Links that will help get you to $100k/mo in email revenue
Let’s get it.
Sunset Flow
So if you didn’t guess already, we’re talking about the sunset flow.
This little guy does the dirty work for your brand’s email list. It’s fighting off all the bots and burner accounts that are ruining your deliverability and driving up the cost of your ESP.
This simple, 1 email flow is sent to those customers who haven’t engaged with your email list in a long time (usually around 90 days).
Why should you even bother emailing these people?
Well, we’re not necessarily trying to sell to them.
What this flow is really doing is:
Cleaning your list
Improving your deliverability
Keeping the cost of your ESP (Klaviyo, etc.) down
Re-engaging past customers/subscribers
& finally, it will pick up some sales for you
It’s their final chance to show some interest in your emails, or they’re going to be suppressed and no longer get emails from you.
So what do you actually put in the email?
First of all, you want it to be a purely text-only email. Ideally from the Founder/Owner of your brand.
Secondly, you don’t want to antagonise these people (do bots get antagonised?). You’re not accusing them of not engaging with your emails.
You’re simply saying something to the tune of…
“We’ve noticed you haven’t been engaging with our emails, that’s okay, we get it. Things happen. However, we do need to make space on our list for our customers that do want to get our emails. If you want to stay on the list, just click here. Or if not, we will remove you in the next couple of days.”
It’s that easy.
I’m sure the question you have now is…
How do you actually set this automation up?
You need to create an unengaged segment. Learn how to do that in this guide.
Make that newly created segment the trigger for your flow.
Add a 1 day time delay before your email.
Send the email.
Leave a 2 day time delay
Set the profile property to Unengaged = True
Here’s how it should look:
And that’s it!
A dead simple flow that will decrease your expenses and add some extra revenue to your business.
Gymshark needs to be better…
Take a look at this screenshot:
Can you believe that is the only way that I could give Gymshark my email address?
They didn’t have a popup. I opened an incognito window and everything.
Tried clicking and scrolling around for a few minutes. Showed exit intent.
Nothing.
Now I’m not sure if this is just their Australian store that’s like this.
But brands this size shouldn’t be this pathetic with their email marketing.
And the signup form at the bottom of the page wants to know my whole life story just to send me some emails.
The takeaways from this are:
Have a popup
Only get their email first to reduce friction
Don’t copy the big brands with everything
